Properties: It is silver-white in liquid state, blue-white soft metal in solid state, orthorhombic crystal system. Soluble in acid, insoluble in water and alkaline aqueous solution. The anisotropy is significant. It is malleable in the solid state, quite stable in the air, and almost the same as silver in the liquid state. The melting point is 29.78°C; the boiling point is about 2400°C.

Uses: High-purity gallium is mainly used to produce GaAs, GaN, Gap and other compound semiconductor materials, superconducting materials, high-purity alloys, and heat carriers for nuclear reactors. The purity of 99.99999% (7N gallium) is mainly used in the manufacture of gallium arsenide, gallium phosphide, gallium antimonide, etc., for the manufacture of LEDs and infrared devices. High-purity gallium can also be used as an additive to alloys such as permanent magnet materials.
